Water, water!

I was sick for two days. It was difficult. I had a fever and a terrible headache. I had frequent stay inside the restroom due to my irregular loose bowel. I felt weak that I wanted to just lie on my bed but it was already painful to my neck and back. I tried different positions but it wouldn’t work. My eyes were tired of sleeping. But it can’t stand opening. It was so ironic. I trembled in the coldness of my room but my body temperature was high. I’m helpless. I took medicines to alleviate the burden of my condition. I drank a couple of glasses of calamansi juice.

Just this morning when I woke up, I got a mistake when I saw the clock. I thought it was already 5:00 o’clock in the morning. So I didn’t bother getting back to my bed because I had too much sleep since yesterday. Anyway, it’s only 20 minutes early than my usual wake up time. I ironed my uniforms and I got conscious that it’s only around 4:00 o’clock in the morning. I felt sleepy. Nevertheless I continued what I was doing. I remembered to drink a glass of water. It’s part of my morning routine to take a glass of water. This time I increased it and was amazed to know that I was able to consume five glass of water. That was terrible! During ordinary days, I could hardly finish two glasses. It was only then that I realized how dehydrated my body was. Perhaps, I was oblivious of taking fluids due to my poor appetite. Few minutes later, I started to sweat and my stomach became heavy. I rushed to the restroom, “Success!” I had a smooth elimination. It was a great relief.

It was a wonderful morning. I really felt blessed how things worked in my physical condition. My heart was filled with joy and I thanked God how He goes after my daily predicament.

I realized that water is a very simple and abundant substance present yet I oftentimes neglect to take it because of my busy schedule or difficult condition. My mind is preoccupied by many negative concepts. I am so focused on the feelings and circumstances that I am in. Because of what I had experienced, I have learned to give time even for the simple task of drinking water. It is a great substance for health rejuvenation and I want to share this experience to everyone who might be suffering from any physical condition.
